Preservation:
For over fifty years, the Antiquarian Society has been gifting, through a Grant Program, over $500,000.00 to the Green Bay Catholic Diocesan Museum, Brown County Historical Society- Hazelwood, Heritage Hill State Historical Park, National Railroad Museum, Neville Public Museum, St. Norbert Abbey, White Pillars and Woodlawn Cemetery. Funds are used for preservation and restoration of cultural artifacts pertinent to this community. This has been accomplished by an annual community fundraiser- A Holiday Antique Show and Sale. Please look at our Preservation page for examples of our funding efforts.

Cultural Heritage Campaign:
In December 2006, the Brown County Library accepted the proposal by the Green Bay & De Pere Antiquarian Society to purchase the cultural assets owned by the library. These assets were gifted to the library prior to a museum being established in Green Bay. By initiating a $1.3 million dollar community wide campaign, we wanted to ensure the community’s cultural assets that have national significance, would be retained and preserve locally for current and future generations. The Society was successful in its campaign and purchased the assets for $1.2 million dollars on December 14, 2007.

The Heritage Set tab presents the entire Antiquarian Heritage Collection. A. Lincoln signed photo, presidential letters, artwork, paintings, oriental textiles and sculptures. This collection  is placed for safekeeping at the Neville Public Museum. The entire collection was exhibited for the public September 20 -November 12, 2008. We continue to seek funding to meet our $1.3 million dollar goal for conservation and restoration of the assets.

Preserve and Restore the Artwork Fundraising Campaign:
Although we met our campaign purchasing  goal  of $1.2 million(Thanks to All!), these wonderful artifacts must be preserved, protected and restored. If not, they will quickly deteriorate and be lost forever. To offset preservation costs, we have  a preservation and restoration campaign. We are offering a beautiful faux leather bound journal with an imprint and printed copy of a Lincoln speech for $20.00, plus shipping and handling.* Please visit our Preserve Art page for more details, or click the box at top of this page.
