The Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society, Inc.,
the nation's oldest member-based philanthropic organization,
is dedicated to holding and preserving,
in community trust, for future generations,
its most valuable cultural and historic items, art and artifacts.
Founded in 1923, The Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society, Inc. is a “one of a kind” non-profit organization that supports regional historical institutions by providing grant monies for preservation and restoration of cultural artifacts. We own over 350 treasures -- antique furniture, textiles, paintings, lighting fixtures, china, silver and objects of art; many are exhibited in local historical buildings and museums. Our most noteworthy pieces include 25 paintings by renowned American artist Howard Pyle, a collection of valuable oriental rugs, “The Hospitality of St. Julian" by Italian artist Cristofano Allori, and a rare photograph of Abraham and Tad Lincoln, signed by Abraham Lincoln himself! Our grants are funded by proceeds from our "Annual Holiday Antique Show & Sale", held in November.
